Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on oakmacare.co.uk, what they do, and how to control them. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your settings between visits, and to gather information about how the site is used. Some cookies are set by us, and some are set by other organisations whose services we use (‘third-party cookies’).

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies in three categories. The first is essential and is set without asking you, because the site cannot work without it. The other two are only set if you accept them in our consent banner.

CategoryWhat they doDefault
Strictly necessaryThese cookies make the site work. They remember your form progress, prevent abuse, and recognise you across pages of a single visit. They do not track you between visits or across other sites.Always on. Cannot be turned off without breaking the site.
AnalyticsThese cookies tell us how the site is used — which pages people visit, how they got there, what works and what doesn’t. We use Google Analytics 4 for this.Off by default. Set only if you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner.
FunctionalThese cookies remember preferences across visits — for example, whether you have already accepted cookies. None of them are used for marketing.Off by default for non-essential preferences. Set only if you accept functional cookies.

This is the full list of cookies set on this site, what each one does, who sets it, and how long it lasts. We update it when the site changes.

4. Third-party cookies and where data goes

Some cookies are set by other organisations whose services we use. The main one is Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC. When you accept analytics cookies, information about your visit is sent to Google’s analytics service, which may involve transferring data outside the UK. Google operates as our processor under their standard data processing terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle international transfers more generally.

5. Your choices

You can change your mind at any time:

Withdrawing consent does not remove cookies that have already been set. To remove existing cookies, clear them in your browser.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when we change the cookies we use. The ‘Effective date’ at the top tells you when the current version came into force.

7. Questions
